HOPKINS COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - Deputies with the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office have arrested an Arlington man riding through the area on a bus and allegedly carrying $14,000 in cash Monday.
Octavio Acevedo Molina, 51, is charged with money laundering.
According to an arrest affidavit, deputies boarded the Greyhound bus during a scheduled stop and told passengers they would be searching for drugs and weapons.
The affidavit states Molina gave consent to be searched and was found with multiple bundles of cash wrapped in rubber bands. Molina was taken to the jail for questioning and could not account for how much he had or where it came from, according to the affidavit. He also could not give a consistent statement on where he was traveling to and from, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit states Molina had $14,000. His bond has not yet been set.
