18 Wheeler Catches Fire

Investigators are trying to figure out what sparked a fire on an 18-Wheeler Thursday morning at an East Texas Interstate.

It happened at around 3:30 at the intersection of I-20 and Highway 155 in Smith County. The 2 people inside the truck were able to get out before the fire reached the cab. They were not injured, and fire crews were able to put out the blaze.

The westbound lanes of I-20 were shut down while crews cleared the scene. Those lanes are now open once again.
