TYLER, TX (KLTV) - Over 4,300 runners participated in the fifth FRESH 15 race, including some who have only been walking a few years. The race started five years ago when Brookshires decided they wanted to promote health and wellness in the community and bring people together.
"All the runner revenue, 100 percent, goes back to charity. We have 18 different charities, and every bit of that goes back to them. In the four years that we've been doing it, we've given over $500,000 back to our local community,"
Brookshires estimates there were 8,000 to 10,000 people attending the event, including runners from 17 states and six different countries.
