SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

A Smith County Grand Jury has indicted a man on a capital murder charge.

Christopher Hardy, age 23, is charged with murder for his alleged involvement in a shooting that occurred on November 13, 2017 at Tyler's Chelsea Creek Apartments.

When officers arrived at the scene of the shooting, they say they found three people who had been shot inside an apartment in Building 14.

Police say Darryl Dewayne Washington Jr., 25 along with Terry Demond Rogers, 22, of Tyler, and Nadarius Houston, 18, of Tyler, had been shot with semi-automatic handguns. Washington died from his injuries.

Police believe the shooting may have been drug-related.

Hardy is in jail and under $1,000,000 bond. A grand jury, after hearing evidence in the case, believes there is sufficient evidence to justify a trial. Stay with KLTV and KLTV.com for future updates.
