3 New London VFD firefighters recovering after rollover wreck

RUSK COUNTY, TX (KLTV) -

Three New London firefighters are expected to be okay after their fire truck was involved in a rollover wreck Wednesday night.

Officials tell us the single-vehicle wreck happened just before 10 p.m. on FM 850 between Texas 42 and FM 2012 while the New London Volunteer Fire Department was headed to a grass fire in a water-tender vehicle, according the Rusk County Office of Emergency Management.

The three firefighters were taken to a hospital to be checked out. The names of the injured firefighters have not been released.

FM 850 reopened late Wednesday after crews cleared the vehicle and debris.

Responding agencies included the Overton Fire Department, Kilgore Fire Department, Crims Chapel Volunteer Fire Department, Champion EMS, Rusk County Sheriffs Office, Sabine Fire & Rescue personnel, and the New London Police Department.

Right now, details are limited and there's no word on the cause of the wreck.
