Wednesday's Weather: First Alert Weather Day. More storms, especially by afternoon and evening. Temperatures in the mid 70s

EAST TEXAS (KLTV) -

Good Wednesday morning, East Texas!  Cloudy and mild this morning with a little bit of patchy fog.  A few sprinkles are possible here and there, but the heavier rainfall will most likely hold off until afternoon.  Today is a First Alert Weather Day as a few thunderstorms could become strong to severe.  A flash flood watch remains in effect through tomorrow for a few East Texas counties.  A couple waves of showers and storms are possible today.  The first will move through during the afternoon with heavy rainfall and possible small hail along with gusty winds.  The second wave will develop just ahead of the cold front and move through late this evening and overnight into tomorrow morning.  Expect heavy rainfall and some gusty winds with these storms.  Rain will come to an end by midday Thursday with some clearing skies by late Thursday afternoon and evening.  Lots of sunshine is on the way for Friday and Saturday, but chances for rain return by the end of the weekend.
