EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Good Tuesday morning, East Texas! A cool start with temperatures in the 50s and cloud cover beginning to increase across the region. Expect mostly cloudy skies for much of the day today and the chance for scattered showers and storms by midday and afternoon. Storms will develop to the southwest and move northeast through East Texas this afternoon. Today is a First Alert Weather Day as a few storms could become strong to severe with the possibility of hail. Storms will come to an end this evening but will return tomorrow. Expect overcast skies for much of the day Wednesday and the chance for developing thunderstorms along and ahead of a cold front by late afternoon and evening. Tomorrow is another First Alert Weather Day as a few storms could once again become strong to severe with the chance for hail and high winds. Over the next 24-48 hours, another 1-3" of rainfall are possible. More rain will continue to cause creeks and rivers to rise and flooding concerns are likely by the end of the week. Rain comes to an end Thursday morning, with clearing skies by Thursday afternoon. Friday looks mostly sunny and nice with temperatures in the mid 60s. More rain chances return to the forecast this weekend.
