TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A Tyler man is facing formal charges after allegedly beating two people with a table leg on Thanksgiving Day.

Leo Collins, 51, of Tyler, was indicted Feb. 15 for two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Collins was indicted by a grand jury in the 7th Judicial District Court of Smith County, according to judicial records.

On Nov. 23, 2017, Tyler police responded to a residence on Kennedy Avenue where they found Collins walking away from the scene.

Officers later learned that Collins had allegedly assaulted his neighbor, Jacqueline Ewell, 54, and Bufford McGee, 45, by striking them both with a table leg. Police say Ewell suffered a serious head injury and McGee suffered a broken arm.
