Lee Fans Kick Off Season With Party

The Robert E. Lee fans officially kicked off the opening week of the Red Raiders season tonight. Lee fans turned out to show their support for the 2005 edition of the Red Raiders football team as they attempt to defend their 5A Division I football championship. It was an evening of spirit, with cheerleaders on hand, plenty of tailgating, and Red Raiders spirit t-shirts flying off the shelves. The REL Mom's Football Club hosted the event and is ready for another exciting season.

"We are ready this season," said kick off party chairman Susan Williams. "The Robert E. Lee Red Raiders, not only the football team, but the whole school. Look at the fans behind me. We are just excited about the whole season, because we're going to do it again. If you look at our shirts, it says round 2, defending the state."

Lee opens their season Saturday night, hosting Florida's Chaminade Madonna at 8:00 at Trinity Mother Frances Rose Stadium.
