SMITH COUNTY, TX (KLTV) - The Texas Department of Public Safety is responding to a report that a vehicle struck an electric pole on Old Jacksonville Highway.

About 4:50 p.m. Wednesday, troopers responded to Old Jacksonville Highway, just south of FM 2813.

DPS says a vehicle struck an electrical pole. Oncor has been notified. Officials say the driver was not injured.

The Smith County Emergency Services District 2 released a statement on road conditions following the wreck:

"FM 2493 is closed from FM 2813 in Gresham to County Road 133 due to a motor vehicle accident and power lines down. Citizens are encouraged to avoid the area and check the Smith County ESD2 website for updates."

Charles Hill, with Oncor, says about 100 customers are without power.
