LONGVIEW, TX (KLTV) - Longview residents, rejoice! A popular desserts-only restaurant is making its way to town.

Andy's Frozen Custard is planning to build on East Hawkins Parkway. According to Marketing Manager Charlie Buchanan, the timeline of the build and the opening date is still to be determined, but he said, "There will be an Andy's in Longview!"

Andy's is a walk-up and drive-through dessert business. They exclusively sell frozen custard treats, according to their corporate website.

In case you don't know, frozen custard is a bit different than ice cream. According to Andys, it is, "creamier than regular ice cream. Frozen custard contains more butterfat, and is churned very slowly. The slower turning blades keep air from being mixed into the custard as it freezes. The result is a dessert that is rich, thick, and decadent."

Andy's is already a favorite of many Tyler families, as evidenced by the frequent throng of people congregated outside, eating dessert together. Andy's Frozen Custard was founded on March 19, 1986 in Osage Beach, Missouri. They are now found in ten states, and have more than 50 locations, according to the website.
