TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Tyler Police and Tyler Fire are responding to downed power lines on Shiloh Road.

According to Assistant Chief Michael Frost with Tyler Fire, Shiloh Road is shut down now between Paluxy Drive and Pine Knoll Drive.

The call came in around 9 a.m. of a major accident at the intersection of Paluxy Dr. and Shiloh Rd. in Tyler. A female driver traveling westbound left the roadway and struck a power pole just east of Paluxy Drive. The power pole was knocked down causing power lines to fall onto Shiloh Rd across all lanes of traffic.

According to police the driver was treated at the scene and appears to be fine. There was a dog in the car that is also ok. There is no indication to what has caused the wreck. Police say it is still under investigation.

The Tyler Police Department asks that citizens avoid the intersection of Paluxy and Shiloh due to all east and westbound lanes of Shiloh being closed east of Paluxy.

ONCOR has arrived on scene and is working to restore power and replace the poll.  The road will be shut down for some time according to Tyler police.
