MARSHALL, TX (KLTV) - A Marshall bowling alley was damaged in an early morning fire Monday.
According to Marshall police, just before 6 a.m., firefighters responded to a fire at the Maverick Bowling Center in the 2400 block of E. Travis Street.
According to fire officials, the key holder of the establishment showed up, noticed smoke and dialed 911.
"A quick and early 911 notification allowed firefighters to be able to make a good fire stop. At this time our crews are searching for any fire extension as this is a very large building," Fire Marshal Joey Dunagan is on scene and an investigation has begun," said Fire Chief Reggie Cooper.
Officials with the City of Marshall say crews have reopened E. Travis Street. The roadway had been shut down for vehicles and fire equipment to access the building.
City officials say firefighters will remain on the scene to investigate the cause of the fire and continue to search for any fire extensions in the building.
There are no injuries reported.
