Sheriff's office identifies victim in Gregg County shooting

On Sunday, February 11, 2018, at approximately 3:52 AM, Deputies with the Gregg County Sheriff's Office Patrol Division were dispatched  to Club Sensation located at 6412 Highway 31 West, Kilgore, Texas, for reports of a shooting.

While deputies were responding to that location, Gregg County Dispatch received information that a victim from the shooting was in the parking lot at Zippy J's 6242 Old Highway 135 with a gunshot wound.

When deputies arrived at Club Sensation, they began checking for suspects or other injured persons however, none were located. Deputies secured the scene, located potential witnesses, and preserved possible evidence.      

When Deputies arrived at the Zippy J's location, they found a white passenger car with one occupant identified as Ashtin Javon Arnett-Adams, age 26 of Tyler, who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound that was non-life threating in nature. EMS responded to the scene and transported Arnett-Adams to an area hospital for medical treatment. Deputies secured that scene aided by two Officers from Kilgore Police Department.

Gregg County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigations Division arrived at both scenes to begin evidence collection and witness interviews. At approximately 9:21 AM., investigators cleared both scenes concluding their preliminary investigation.
