The chief of police in Jacksonville is reprimanded by the city manager. That's according to a published report in the Tyler Morning Telegraph. It says the reprimand stems from a patrol officers investigation of city manager, Bill Tackett's employment history.
A city councilman told the paper a Jacksonville Police officer used personal time this summer to go to Woodward, Oklahoma where Tackett had been city manager and to find out why he left office. But according to the report, the trip apparently had nothing to do with police business and now the city manager is looking into whether the department broke any policies or laws.
