(KLTV) - Federal Emergency Management Agency and home improvement stores in Harris, Jefferson, and Nueces counties are teaming up to provide free home repair and rebuild information, tips, and literature. The home repair and rebuild expo is for Texans, who had their homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey and subsequent flooding.
FEMA mitigation specialists will be present to answer questions and offer tips along with techniques on how to build hazard-resistant homes using methods that will prevent or reduce damage for future disasters. The free publications and information will aim towards do-it-yourself work and general contractors.
Recovery topics will cover flood insurance, elevating utilities, and rebuilding flooded homes. Free reference booklets will be available with information on protecting a home from flood damage.
