Former Major Leaguer Holds Marshall Clinic

He was one of the most dominant pitchers in the majors leagues once, and today he was teaching future major league hopefuls in Marshall. Former Houston Astros pitcher J.R. Richards was at Wiley college today, teaching the dynamics of pitching, at a free baseball clinic. Young men from as far away as Puerto Rico attended the event to try and hone their skills.

Richards is part of a group called "visiting team", that provide clinics all over Texas. Remembered for his blazing fastball, Richards had health problems that forced him out of the game, but now he delivers a positive message to ball players. Three dozen college and high school players attended todays clinic.
