Another strong cold front is on the way to East Texas this weekend.
Expect a few isolated showers by Friday afternoon, but showers will increase and become more widespread through Saturday morning. Scattered showers and a few isolated thundershowers will be likely off and on through the day Saturday.
As the cold front arrives Sunday morning, temperatures will quickly drop to near freezing with the chance for some light rain and drizzle to become freezing drizzle after midnight Saturday and into Sunday morning.
Any accumulations look very light at this time, mainly in areas along and north of I-20. Drivers early Sunday morning should exercise extreme caution around bridges and overpasses. Temperatures will stay in the 30s most of the day Sunday but should warm above freezing. This, along with blustery north winds will limit any impacts to Sunday morning only.
By Sunday afternoon, it will be cold and windy, but no ice. No impacts are expected to last into early Monday morning.
