Firefighters Take Over The Lowes Parking Lot

Firfighters from the Tyler Fire Deparment took over the Lowes parking lot today.  That's because they were collecting money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  It's part of their annual Boot Drive.  They use their old fire boots to collect the money in.  The fire department has been at Lowes the past five years and says the money goes towards a great cause.

"They give it to them to provide wheel chairs, braces and stuff like that for the children, so the parents are not out all that money," said Doug Stapleton, Boot Drive Coordinator.  "That summer camp that they go to is a real good thing for them because they don't get to do near as much as other kids."

Fireman from the tyler fire department will be out collecting money at Lowes Sunday as well. They will be there from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
