Longview Man Sentenced In Girlfriends Murder

A Longview man is headed to prison for 45 years for strangling his ex-girlfriend. A jury found Michael Menefee guilty yesterday of murdering Jaqueline James, his former girlfriend, as she slept in her Longview home in January 2004.

Menefee wasn't charged until February of this year when witnesses placed him at the scene around the time of the murder. It took a jury just over 2 hours to sentence him.
