East Texas Winery Holds Harvest

The dry east Texas weather and little rainfall may be bad news for most farmers, but it's perfect for east Texas grape growers. Near the tiny community of Midway this morning, the "Los Pinos" winery's red grapes were being harvested and prepared to go to the next phase, wine. "Jeff Snead" started the winery 3 years ago, and has even won a bronze medal for his Texas wines.

He says the wine making process begins with crushing the grapes into juice, then fermenting and bottling the new product. Los Pinos is located on highway 271 between Gilmer and Pittsburg.
