New testing is scheduled to begin next week at the site of a sinkhole in Smith County. The hole on FM 724 was discovered in late June.
A smaller sinkhole was discovered last Wednesday. The hole is about three feet deep and measures about 10 feet in diameter.
TX DOT says crews finished a drilling study yesterday. They're waiting on those results to determine if more studies need to be done. Next week, crews are scheduled to begin seismic testing in the area. Oralia Ortega, reporting. email@example.com
