It was the third day of testimony in the case of three men, charged with the killing and decapitation of a Gilmer man.
In April 2004, Upshur County investigators found the decapitated body of Joe Carroll Nickelbur burning in a ditch on Cherokee Trace Road near Gilmer. One of the men involved, Jason Baughman, testified today the other two allegedly involved, Jeremy and Scott Narramore, beat Nickelbur unconscious, and indicated they beheaded him.
Defense attorneys say Baughman had a brutal nature and had a long history of brushes with the law. The prosecution rested earlier today.
The defense phase begins tomorrow.
