UT Tyler Scholarship Fund Gets $100K Boost

Hundreds of students are getting scholarship checks, thanks in part to last year's U.T. Tyler Patriot Classic.

A check for a little more than $100,000 was presented to the University's scholarship program today. The money comes from not only the Patriot Golf Classic, but the Million Dollar Hole-in-One contest and the Texas Shootout Barbecue.

Dr. Rod Mabry, UT Tyler President: "It's all raising over $100,000. It's so important for our students. So many students need assistance to got to college these days and it will make a difference in the lives many students in East Texas."

The money will go to help students on campus in Tyler, as well as those at centers in Longview and Palestine.
