Lightning Strikes East Texas Home, Sparks Fire

Tuesday afternoon, East Texas was hit with a number of thunderstorms. One of the hardest hit areas was Flint, where lightning struck a house and sparked a fire on County Road 178.

The fire started just after 2:00 p.m.  Fire investigators said lightning hit the attic. The homeowner reported hearing a big boom and a crashing sound. His son looked out and saw the back of the house on fire.

The fire caused at least $15,000 in damage. No one was injured.
