Redneck Games Begin In Kilgore

A tribute to the blue collar in all of us is going on in Kilgore this weekend. With the ceremonial lighting of the bar-b-que pit, the first annual Texas Redneck Games got underway at Rabbit Creek Park in Kilgore. The event features competitions such as the mud-pit belly flop, the car-starter toss, the redneck version of shot-put, and a ladies Daisy Duke contest, as well as dozens of four wheeler competitions.

An estimated 4,000 people have come from Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Oklahoma for the event. The games conclude tomorrow with extreme truck competitions and the truck tug of war.
