Oklahoma Family Asks Help To Find Missing Girl In Gladewater

An Oklahoma family is asking for help from East Texans in finding a little girl missing for nearly three years. The girl's mother, who's in jail continues to refuse to tell where the child is. Twenty-six-year-old Misty Van Zandt was arrested in Gladewater last October on a fugitive warrant of child abuse from Oklahoma. Van Zandt fled Oklahoma in 2002.

The child's father has not seen or heard from seven-year-old Sabrae Van Zandt in three years. When arrested, Misty Van Zandt refused to tell officers where her daughter was, but police believe that friends might be hiding the child in Gladewater. The family's attorney was in Longview, trying to appeal to people for help in finding her.

"Trig Van Zandt has not seen his daughter in almost three years. She left in 2002 and since she was arrested we still have not been able to find this child. We need somebody that can spot the child and tell authorities where she is," said Van Zandt family attorney Monty Johnson.

Anyone who's seen the girl is asked to call the Gregg County Sheriff's Department, or the Center for Missing Children at 703 -837-6234.
