Kiwanis Clubs Thank Tyler By Giving Back

The city of Tyler is hosting around 1,200 Kiwanis Club members from Texas and Oklahoma. In return, they're saying "thank you" by doing what they do back. Kiwanis chapters in both states teamed up to collect coats, for the "Coats For Kids" campaign. The coats will go to needy children in the East Texas area. "We really wanted to leave something behind after this convention so that the folks from Tyler had a good feeling about Kiwanis because we are a service organization and our whole underpinning is serving the children of the world," says Kiwanis District Governor Gene Jantzen. The coats will be presented to P.A.T.H. Saturday morning. The Kiwanis clubs also collected around $5,000 in cash donations.
