East Texas Father Gets Unexpected "Reunion" With Military Son

Jeff Tileston of Mineola says his youngest son, Brian, is his best friend. He's a 1st Lieutenant in the Air Force, and is in charge of spotting incoming missiles out of B-52 bombers. "I miss being as much a part of his life," says father Tileston. We brought that missing piece, when we showed him a copy of a special report his son was featured in on B-52's. Much to his dad's surprise.... "He didn't tell me that they did this," Jeff says laughing as he watches the tape. "I'm gonna get him," he says jokingly.

"I'm very proud of him, not only personally as his dad but as him being a part of the armed forces and working for our country and doing a good job." Joining the Air Force after college wasn't the route Jeff expected his son to go. "Because I was looking forward to having a lot of interaction with him because he and I have been close our whole lives. We do a lot of activities together." But Brian has followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather by becoming a service member.

And seeing the product of his son's hard work on tape makes this proud pop also feel proud to be an American. "It makes you feel good to be around not just him, but his associates and to know that we are well protected and that there's people that still have pride in their country."
