"Major Dad" Pulling Duty Back At Home

From early morning drills and treks across the Iraqi desert, to chasing an excited 5-year-old around the house.
One East Texan is a true "Major Dad."
Major Pierre Fenrick returned home last week from his tour of duty in Iraq and Afghanistan. Saturday, from his littlest fans, his kids, to family and neighbors, they all turned out for a welcome home cookout.
Major Fenrick served in the Gulf War and Somalia.
He was called back to support Operation Iraqi Freedom for a year and a half. The Major said it was nice to have his friends and family welcome him home.
"We flew in at 2 o'clock in the morning," he said. "No fan fair, no nothing. My family was able to sneak in about 3 or 4 hours after the plane landed. But to come here and have all of my friends and my family to welcome me back, it means a lot."
The Major was able to celebrate his birthday at home earlier during the week.
His oldest son is also following in his dad's military footsteps. He is stationed at Jacksonville Naval Air Station.
