Tyler Junior College Trustees Say No Tax Hike Is Expected

The tax rate is expected to remain the same for those living in the Tyler Junior College district. That action was recommended today to the TJC Board of Trustees.

Although tax rate won't go up, the school will see $340,000 in additional revenue. That's because of an increase in property value and new construction in the district. The proposed rate will stay at just about 13 cents per $100 valuation.

The board will hold a public hearing on the proposed budget on August 11th and 18th. Board members will meet at the end of August to adopt the tax rate.
