Homes and Businesses In Mineola Clean Up After Flooding

Homes and businesses in Mineola are cleaning up after Wednesday's storms. Officials say several areas reported flooding, including the area around Highway 69 and Highway 37 and a section of downtown.

The owner of  Naturally Nails says the salon saw as much as four inches of water inside Wednesday. Today, the store looked as good as new, but Oleta Norris says that's only thanks to family and friends who helped with the clean up.  "It took us from when it started until 9 o'clock last night with all the help of friends and everybody bringing in vacuum cleaners and that kind of thing."

Authorities say at least 25 homes and businesses reported flooding, but no major damage.
