A White Oak man, accused of shooting at police officers over the weekend, is now in custody waiting on arraignment. On Sunday night, police say Juan Jasso fired his gun at White Oak police officers as he was fleeing from a traffic stop.
Tuesday morning, Longview police found him holed up in the Quality Inn on Spur 63. Officers say after a short standoff, SWAT team members broke out a window to his room and threw in a chemical irritant. Officers then stormed Jasso's room and arrested him. Inside, they found the gun believed to have been used in Sunday's shooting with police.
Jasso will be charged with aggravated assault on a public servant, as well as several other outstanding warrants.
