Tyler Police Officers Bring Home The Gold

Tyler's finest have proven to have lots of muscle in the 2005 Police Olympics in San Antonio.
Five Tyler police officers participated. They won medals in bench pressing, biathlon, shooting, and racquetball.

One officer, weighing in at 181 pounds, bench pressed 429 pounds.
Six of their 11 medals are gold. The officers said, year after year, they can't wait to make a return trip.

"I plan for it from the day I leave from wherever I left from," said officer John Brown. "Next year it's going to be in South Padre so I'm already making my arrangements now."

All the officers said they plan to take their muscle and skills global in two years. They hope to participate in the world Olympics in Australia in 2007.
