Bank Robbery Suspect On The Loose

A Longview bank robber is still on the loose. Police say he claimed he had a bomb when he robbed the Hibernia bank in the 1100 block of Judson road Tuesday.

The robbery was captured on surveillance video. The robber is a white male with dark hair and a moustache. He was wearing dark clothing. The robber brought two duffel bags into the bank. Police say one of them looked like a bomb.

"Some coat hangers and some wires were hanging out of it to make it look real. He had a fake detonation device he had in his hand that he showed to the bank teller and told her that was a detonation device for the bomb," says Sergeant Shaun Pendleton with the Longview police department.

Police say the robber left that duffel bag inside the bank when he fled. He was last seen driving away in a blue GMC pick-up truck with the second duffel bag, containing the money.

Bank employees were then evacuated until the ATF could detonate the bag, determining that it was a hoax.

If you have any information, contact the FBI or Longview police.
