Early Morning Shooting At Tyler Home

For the second time in a week, someone has fired shots at a Tyler home.

This time it happened at a home in the 1500 block of Earle street around 5:30 Thursday morning. Police said the shooter drove up to the house, got out of the car, fired several rounds in to the front door, then took off.

No one inside the home was hurt.

Last week someone fired two rounds in to a house near the East Texas Fair grounds.

Police said people should not be concerned. The shootings are unrelated, and in both cases police believe the intended victims and shooters know each other.

"Different motives, different incidents, we don't think there's any connection whatsoever," said Tyler Police Officer Don Martin. "The incident that happened early this morning was not actually a drive-by."

Tyler police said if you witnessed anything, to please contact the department. No arrests have been made in either shooting.
