TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

Up to this point, the Tyler Junior College baseball team has effectively played 40 exhibition games. But now the fun begins. The three-time defending national
champions opened conference play Thursday afternoon at home against Coastal Bend.

Whoever wins the best of seven games over the next couple weeks gets to host the District C tournament in May.

In game one, TJC got a great effort from pitcher James Kuykendall, and Taylor Broadway broke a 0-0 tie with a solo home run in the fifth inning. The Apaches went onto win 3-0. The two teams will play a doubleheader on Friday afternoon.
