East Texas Landlord Arrested

An East Texas landlord has been arrested, accused of keeping his tenants in filth. We first told you last night about 38-year-old Kevin Phillips. Constable Dale Geddie says Phillips is charged with two counts of health code violations and one count of felony theft.

His tenants told us yesterday they've been living in Phillips' trailer park for months, with raw sewage leaking from broken septic tanks and insects taking them over. Today, they told us they're glad justice was served, but are still concerned.

Tenant Neda Derosier said, "We're just glad that someone did hear us, but we're concerned that it's still not gonna make him fix the problem. I'm glad that the justice system is on our side and everything, but the sewer's still messed up."

When we talked to Phillips earlier in the week, he told us he temporarily fixed the sewage problem multiple times.
