A Computer Glitch Is Believed To Be Behind Property Appraisal Mistakes

The Upshur County Appraisal District is working to correct a problem, believed to have been caused by a computer glitch.  More than 100 people went to the appraisal office between Thursday and Friday, asking why their property appraisals have risen so much, even doubling in some cases.

Officials say 16,000 appraisal documents went out Monday. They say there's no way for them to know exactly how many of them are wrong. However, they say they've already begun fixing part of the problem.

If you have a question regarding your appraisal, you can go to the Upshur County Appraisal office or give them a call.
