Spurs Are King Of The NBA!

San Antonio is a title town once again. The Spurs have won their third NBA Championship -- and their second in three seasons -- by defeating the Detroit Pistons 81-74 in game seven of the finals. Series MVP Tim Duncan finished with 25 points and eleven rebounds while Manu Ginobili  added 23 points on 8-of-13 shooting. Duncan scored 12 of the Spurs' 19 points in the third quarter after contributing just eight points in the first half. Ginobili scored six points in the final minute, including a layup that put the Spurs ahead 75-68. The layup came after Bruce Bowen blocked a three-point attempt by Chauncey Billups. Robert Horry was the only other Spur to score in double-figures, finishing with 15. The Pistons shot under 42% and were 2-of-14 from three-point range. Richard Hamilton paced Detroit with 15 points but missed 12 of his 18 shots. Ben Wallace had 12 points and eleven rebounds for the Pistons, who scored just 35 points in the second half.
