Ground Breaking Ceremony For Two-Hour House

The Tyler Area Builders Association will hold a competition to break a national record.  Their plan is to have a home built in less than two-and-a-half hours.

Thursday morning, the T.A.B.A. held a ground-breaking ceremony in Northwest Tyler.
A group of volunteers and skilled tradesmen will take on the task of building a home on October 1st, but they'll have a chance to build two practice homes before then.

The day of the event, two competing teams will each build a 2,160 square-foot concrete-slab home.

All four homes will be sold, with 100% of the profit donated to worthy causes in the Tyler area. The charities include Habitat for Humanity International, The Azleway Charter School,  Bethesda Health Clinic, East Texas Food Bank, PATH, and the American Red Cross.
