TYLER, TX (KLTV) -

A suspect has been arrested after two good samaritans saw him trying to harm two individuals in Tyler.

According to Officer Don Martin, at 2:10 p.m on Sunday,  a couple was in the parking lot in front of FD's Grillhouse, located on 8934 South Broadway, when a suspect brought out a large knife.

The suspect identified as Chad Boening, 35, stuck the knife up to the female and stated "do you want to see her die".

Two witnesses, Chase and Terry Nick, were sitting in their vehicle when they observed the assault in progress and exited to assist the victims.

According to Tyler PD,  both Chase and Terry displayed handguns to the suspect, ordering him to drop the knife and get on the ground.

The suspect complied and remained on the ground until an off-duty Game Warden who was in the area took him into custody.

Boening was transported to Smith County Jail and charged with robbery.  This incident remains under investigation, according to Tyler PD.
