Thousands In Jacksonville Celebrate The Tomato

They are the pride of Jacksonville and the fruit of East Texas.
This weekend thousands came out to celebrate tomatoes. The 21st annual Tomato Fest was ready and ripe in Jacksonville.
The streets near the Tomato Bowl were lined with booths offering everything from, you guessed it, tomatoes and salsa to arts and crafts.
Prizes were given out earlier for the biggest homegrown vine fruit. Visitors told us the best thing about celebrating tomatoes, is the food.
"There is no bad at all," said Kim Brown of the food,"I haven't found any bad food at all. I'm sure it's coming but we haven't found any. Everything we've had so far is great. Especially the salsa."
"The best thing is the fresh grown tomatoes," said vendor Mike Meyers. "I always get me some tomatoes before I leave here and go home."
