DALLAS, TX (KLTV) - The NFL announced on Thursday that the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals will play in the annual Hall of Fame preseason game in Canton, Ohio. The matchup makes sense considering Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and former Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner will both be inducted into the Hall that weekend.
There is one slight change. For the first time in NFL history, the preseason game will take place on Thursday before the enshrinement ceremony on Saturday instead of on Sunday. The date of the game is August 3rd.
One other note worth mentioning. Because Dallas has been picked to play in the game, the organization will get two extra weeks of practice. That means the Cowboys could report to Oxnard, California for training camp somewhere around July 18th and then start practice a day or two later.
