Bush Meets With South Korean Leader Amid Nuclear Tensions

President Bush meets with South Korea's leader today amid tensions over North Korea's nuclear program.

While both Bush and South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun (noh moo-hyuhn) want the North to scrap the program, their approach has differed. The Bush administration brands North Korea an "outpost of tyranny," while Roh advocates peaceful coexistence.

Yesterday a North Korean official bragged to an interviewer that his country is building more bombs and hinted they could be mounted on long-range missiles.

Bush wants the North to return to six-party talks that have been stalled for nearly a year. Earlier this week, North Korean officials told their American counterparts the North is committed to such talks given the right conditions. But so far, no date has been set for a resumption.
