DALLAS, TX (KLTV) - Longtime ESPN reporter Ed Werder believes the Cowboys will release quarterback Tony Romo in the coming months instead of trading him. If that scenario plays out, Romo would then get to basically choose where he wants to play in 2017.
The 37 year-old has only played in five of the last 32 games. If Dallas cuts Romo after June 1st, it would only lose $10.7 million of cap space in 2017 and can then roll $8.9 million over to 2018.
