East Texas construction projects the week of Feb. 13

Released by the Texas Department of Transportation:

TYLER – Here's a look at work planned in the district during the Week of February 13, 2017. These schedules are subject to change due to weather conditions, equipment failure or other unforeseen issues. Slow down and pay attention when traveling through work zones.

In Tyler, motorists are encouraged to avoid the Loop 323 project at SH 31 as nighttime demolition operations are implemented at 7 p.m. Sunday, February 12, to remove the shoofly bridge. The work will cause major delays with traffic being moved for safety purposes to the alternate lanes of where work is occurring. The structure over the northbound lanes will be removed first necessitating the shift of all northbound traffic to the southbound lanes which then will carry two-way traffic. This will be reversed for removal of the structure over the southbound lanes. Once the beams are removed, the center columns will be dismantled. This work will be conducted from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. throughout the week. Local law enforcement will be assisting with traffic control during this operation. Additional project information is available in the Smith County section of this release under the heading Loop 323 West Widening at UPRR Underpass.

In Longview, the intersection of Graystone Road and the new George Richey Road/FM 2275 is scheduled to close on Friday, February 17, as the contractor makes tie-ins to the new road.
