This is the perfect cake for the chocolate lover in your life! Easy to make, and very rich, it's a special treat that some have been known to request for birthdays and holidays!
Chocolate-toffee poke cake
1 box Devil's food or chocolate cake mix, prepared according to package directions
1 1/2 cups caramel sauce, either homemade or from jar
14 ounces condensed milk
1 bag chocolate toffee pieces (Heath bar pieces)
1. Bake the cake in a greased 9"x13" baking dish. When it comes out of the oven, immediately poke numerous holes in top of cake with fork.
2. Quickly, mix together the condensed milk and the caramel sauce until well-combined. Pour over the hot cake, pouring over the center and allowing it to flow from there across the cake. Set the cake aside to cool in the fridge to cool completely.
3. When the cake is completely cool and you are ready to serve, remove from fridge, and use the whipped cream to cover the surface of the cake.
4. Sprinkle the chocolate toffee pieces generously across the cake, then use the chocolate syrup to make a pattern of your choosing across the top of the cake.
