Hawaiian Theme At Tyler Park Dedication

Before Saturday's thunderstorms began, in Tyler there was fun, hot dogs, fishing, hot dogs, swimming, and you guessed it, hot dogs.
The buffet of grilled franks was part of the city's summer luau, held at Woldert Park.
The mayor, city council and parks and recreation members dedicated nearly four years of expansion work.
The end result: a fishing pond, bike and pedestrian trail and sprayground. In the spirit of a good luau, city council members sported some serious Hawaiian attire.
"It's just a theme we came up with," said Mayor Pro-Tem Derrick Choice. "So, close your eyes and imagine perhaps that you are in Hawaii with the hot dogs and the swimming. Just all the festivities that this park has to offer."
Saturday's luau also officially opened all of Tyler's public swimming pools for summer fun.
