EAST TEXAS (KLTV) - Good afternoon, East Texas. We have been working on several local stories today.
Here are a few for you to check out in your spare time:
1. Longview police are investigating a homicide after a teenager died from a gunshot wound over the weekend.
2. Former East Texas County judge Joel Baker entered a no contest plea deal Monday on one of the three charges brought against him. Two of the other counts were dismissed per the deal.
3. Authorities have released the identity of a suspect who led East Texas authorities on a chase that ended in a three-vehicle wreck on Saturday night. Shots were fired and the chase ended when the vehicle crashed into two other vehicles at the intersection of Palace and Front Street.
4. A fairly quiet weather pattern is expected in East Texas over the next several days, or at least until we get into the day on Saturday. We are, however, looking for a cold front to pass through East Texas during the early part of the day tomorrow, bringing with it more cloud cover and very little chance for any rain. You may not even know that the front has moved through with the exception of a northeasterly wind should begin to blow behind the boundary. Mild temperatures are expected on Tuesday, cooler on Wednesday and even cooler still on Thursday. So it will take several hours for you to even notice the cooler air moving in. ?Watch KLTV7 News at 5 and 6 for the latest update from Chief Meteorologist Mark Scirto.
